Structures of Support - Capstone
The past several decades have presented a novel concern that impacts many countries worldwide; dangerous circumstances have created situations in which millions of refugees have fled their home countries in search of asylum in countless different countries. As the scope of the global refugee crisis grows exponentially, a number of countries have taken on significant numbers of these refugees, each of these cultures accommodating these individuals in diverse ways.
The purpose of Structures of Support is to introduce school board members in Burlington and Winooski Vermont to pedogogical approaches that wholistically accomodate refugee students. The methods used in this approach are a comparative analysis of educational structures that other countries with greater influxes of refugees have employed in order to compensate for the interrupted educational experience of a refugee student.
The deliverables of this campaign are encompassed in a scalable manner in order to achieve optimal accessibility and engagement from the audience of school board members. These include a detailed publication, an interactive website, and a pamphlet.
